STYLE- Charlene of Struttlamode

This is a brand new series of posts that will be appearing on the blog monthly. In order for you to know a little bit more about me I thought I definitely should explain some of the other blogs and bloggers that inspired me as they are the reason I am doing this in the first place. We all look at each others blogs for inspiration and there is nothing wrong with that. We all started as blog readers and still are, blogging is a community and I have met some very lovely people so far. This series though had to begin with my biggest Style inspiration/crush. I bloody love Charlene's blog it has and always will be a constant source of style inspiration to me because she is beautiful, gorgeous, stylish and not to mention lovely! So I had a little chat to Charlene about what made her start Strutt La Mode and the conversation follows below for you guys to enjoy.

So where did you get the idea from to start blogging?

I found it hard to get a job when I left University and had a lot of free time on my hands. When I was not looking for jobs I was on the interent a lot reading fashion blogs and just thought I have loads of clothes which have built up during my uni days (thanks student loan) I could do this to fill my time ...So I did.

Where do you get style inspiration from? 

Everywhere! Films, Streetstyle, magazines if I seee something I like from anywhere I will take it on board and make it my own.

Who is your biggest style crush? 

I have a few right now its

Kate Bosworth, 90's Drew Barrymore and Thelma and Louise

How would you define your style? Super tricky question I know! 

My style is constantly evolving so it would be impossible to define it.

What are you staple go to wardrobe pieces?

Vintage Leather Jacket, Chokers, Topshop Astrix Boots

What pieces are you currently covetting?

Slip Dresses and ovesized T-shirts dresses - easy things. And just about anything from LNA!

I love these but I cannot afford them :-(

Love Cats!

Yay! At last, another sunny day outfit post! Well this ones kind of more about the accessories  I was sent some lovely stuff this week by the lovely Molly Bishop of anomalymolly.co.uk and she is one heck of a talented lady! I'd been lusting after her gorgeous flower crowns for some time, this beautiful peachy shade is my particular fave as its just such a me colour and at £8 they are an amazing bargain, to receive something this lovely and handmade. Also her 'Love Boobs' tees are just so so cute! They are total limited editions and made with beautifully soft American Apparel tees so for £13 again I think this is a total steal. She sent me lots of other gorgeous bits and bobs, you may have seen the blue collar clips on my Instagram earlier this week as I wore them with my new Blue Polka Dot Topshop shirt and they just looked the cutest together!

Flowers and fierce poses!

A quick little outfit post as i've been dying to wear this bomber jacket since I brought it last week. I love love the bright floral pattern and the really nice silky fabric. I haven't been brave enough to wear the whole outfit yet though, I think my neighbours already think i'm bonkers for standing next to various walls, in various outfits doing various poses haha! Also I had a near death experience when taking these photos as a frog jumped out at me and i'm really scared of them for some reason even though I think they're kind of cute! Anyway the rest of the outfit is just a basic black tee from Topshop that's just super oversized and it was only £14. Fishnet tights and my eBay cycling shorts. I also wore gold jewellery which is something you don't see me doing very often. Also i'm wearing my Topshop Astrix boots which i've not had anywhere near enough wear from yet as I love them so much but I just don't very often wear heels. I know they're quite a small heel for most people but they still kinda scare me as at 5ft 11 I kinda live in flats.

Spots & Floral Brights.

I have treated myself a little this week as you can see. I don't buy new clothes every week I promise. But when this darling polka dot shirt came into work at the beginning of the week I just couldn't resist. At only £29 from Topshop I thought it was a steal as its something that I know i'll get so much wear from.
The second and third purchases were a little more risky but it was love at first sight and I just couldn't put them back. The floral bomber I know I will wear as I just seem to be into buying bombers at the moment and again was a pretty baragainous price of £22.75! The trousers again i'm pretty sure I'll get my wear from as I am a lady who loves a printed trouser! I am going to be rocking the outfit as a co-ord on the blog at some point later this week. Oh and the trousers were £16.75. Don't you just love Forever 21 and there oh so random pricing of things.
Lastly my lovely gradient cats eye sunnies. Cats eye are a must for me for sunglasses and my actual glasses are this shape too, I just love the style. These were a total steal at £4.90, I had to have them!
So what are we thinking to the co-ord, should I rock it as an outfit or just keep it as separates?

Etsy Front Page!

I've woken up this morning in an extremely happy mood for first thing on a Monday morning (5am get up time too!) But today I found out that my little Honey, Rose & Amber Etsy shop made the front page of the website! I think this is the kind of stuff you wish will happen when your an Etsy seller and by some luck, it has! I only started the shop a couple of months back so it's still pretty new but it's so lovely to be featured! Sunday love

So this is the outfit i'm wearing today, just went for a comfy cosy number as I'll mostly be doing lots of jobs at home today, like getting more lovely jewels up on the Honey Rose & Amber Etsy shop, hurrah!
I like the clashing monochrome prints in this outfit and of course my lovely new fluffy pink angora jumper which is just soooo soft!
The jumper is from the old Lana Del Rey collection for H&M which sold out when I wanted it at the time but I have since won it on eBay for £7, amazing! The polka dot shirt is actually Primark, Topshop do a nearly identical one but this was only £12 and the skirt is from Motel Rocks which is actually part of a two piece with a matching little crop top which I wear when i'm feeling brave enough.
You can see from these pictures that my hair still isn't the 'perfect' ice white blonde that I want it yet but going from blue to blonde is quite a big undertaking so it's being done in stages. It's not bad at the moment yet and i'm really enjoying having blonde hair again.
